The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Let them eat and enjoy; and let their hopes deceive them, soon they shall know. 3 And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it. 4 and no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 5 And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad. 6 "Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?" 7 But We send down the angels only to bring justice and then they will not be reprieved. 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 (O Muhammad), certainly We did send Messengers before you among the nations which have gone by. 10 and never yet came an apostle to them without their deriding him. 11 Thus do We let it (polytheism and disbelief) enter into the hearts of the Mujrimun [criminals, polytheists, pagans, etc. (because of their mockery at the Messengers)]. 12 They do not believe in it, and indeed the example of the former people has already passed. 13 And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto, 14 they would surely have said, "It is only our eyes that are spellbound! Nay, we have been bewitched! 15
