And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 And We said, “Take a broom in your hand and strike her with it, and do not break your vow”; We indeed found him patiently enduring; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And remember Isma'il and Al-Yas'a and Zul-kifl; all of the excellent ones. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire! 64
