So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
