Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 And that we used to sit in some of the sitting-places thereof to steal a hearing, but he who would (try to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him: 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
