He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and pious. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 and let the earth to break open 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
