Proof (Al-Bayyinah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the idolaters would never desist until the Clear Proof came to them. 1 An messenger from Allah, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy: 2 holy Book which contain eternal laws of guidance. 3 Now those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime did break up their unity [of faith] after such an evidence of the truth had come to them. 4 And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion. 5 Lo! those who disbelieve, among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings. 6 Those who have faith and do righteous deeds,- they are the best of creatures. 7 their recompense is with their Lord-Gardens of Eden, underneath which rivers flow, therein dwelling for ever and ever. God is well-pleased with them, and they are well-pleased with Him; that is for him who fears his Lord. 8
