And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
