And a sign unto them is the dead land. We quicken it and thereout We bring forth grain, so that thereof they eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat of its fruit; yet it was not done by their hands. Then why do they not acknowledge thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 Of the signs for them is how We separated the day from the night and thus they remained in darkness; 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 And if We should will, We could drown them; then no one responding to a cry would there be for them, nor would they be saved 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They are awaiting only for one Cry to seize them while they are yet disputing, 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
