Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
