The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
