Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the glorious morning light; 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
