Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 This is what they had been promised for the Day of Judgment. 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 Taste the scalding water, pus, and other putrid things". 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people rushing headlong to join you?" "No welcome to them! Indeed, they are headed for the fire!" 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
