We did not create heaven and earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who deny the truth. Woe betide those who deny the truth, when they are cast into the Fire -- 27 Or should we treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like corrupters in the land? Or should We treat those who fear Allah like the wicked? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 When his dressage steeds were presented to him in the evening, 31 And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night): 32 Bring them back to me; so he began to slash (their) legs and necks. 33 And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned. 34 He said: "My Lord! Forgive me, and bestow upon me a kingdom such as shall not belong to any other after me: Verily, You are the Bestower." 35 We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, 36 And the shaitans, every builder and diver, 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 [We said], "This is Our gift, so grant or withhold without account." 39 And most surely he had a nearness to Us and an excellent resort. 40
