Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
