Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Then lift your gaze again, your gaze will return towards you, unsuccessful and weak. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are flung therein they hear its roaring as it boileth up, 7 As it would burst with rage. Whenever a (fresh) host is flung therein the wardens thereof ask them: Came there unto you no warner? 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 They will say, "If we had only listened or understood, we should not now be among the inmates of Hell," 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
