Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people (and directed him): “Warn your people before a grievous chastisement comes upon them.” 1 He said: "O my people, I warn you clearly 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will shower upon you torrents from heaven, 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 ‘Whereas it is He Who created you in different stages?’ 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
