But the godfearing shall be amidst gardens and fountains: 45 [Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]." 46 We shall cleanse their hearts of all traces of ill-will; they will be like brethren seated on couches facing one another. 47 No fatigue will touch them nor will they be expelled therefrom." 48 ۞ Tell My servants that I - I alone - am truly forgiving, a true dispenser of grace; 49 and that My punishment is the painful chastisement. 50 And tell them of Abraham's guests, 51 who came to him saying, "Peace be with you." Abraham said, "We are afraid of you". 52 They said, "Do not be afraid. We come to you with good news. You shall have a son who shall be endowed with great knowledge." 53 Said he: "Do you give me this glad tiding despite the fact that old age has overtaken me? Of what [strange thing,] then, are you giving me a tiding!" 54 They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!" 55 He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray? 56 [Ibrahim (Abraham) again] said: "What then is the business on which you have come, O Messengers?" 57 They said: verily we have been sent unto a people guilty 58 excepting the folk of Lot; them we shall deliver 59 excepting only his wife, [of whom God says,] 'We have ordained [that,] behold, she should be among those who stay behind!' 60
