Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
