The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the great news - 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and luxuriant gardens. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
