The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 And who are shepherds of their pledge and their covenant, 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These are the heirs 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
