The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 that hide, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
