The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and so am I: 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
