The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 and enjoins piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
