The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 And they said: a mere human being from amongst us, and single! shall we follow him! verily then we should fall in error and madness. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 Tomorrow shall they know who is the liar, the insolent one. 26 Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. 27 And declare thou unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns. 28 But they called their companion, so he took (the sword) and slew (her). 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 For We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 We let loose on all of them a squall of claystones, except for the house of Lot whom We saved at dawn 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 He had warned them of Our might, but they passed over the warnings. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
