The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by this city -- 1 And thou shalt be allowed in yonder city 2 And the begetter and that which he begat, 3 that We have created man into a life of toil and trial. 4 Deemest he that none will overpower him? 5 He says, “I destroyed vast wealth.” 6 What, does he think none has seen him? 7 Have We not made for him two eyes? 8 And a tongue and two lips, 9 and guided him on the two highways? 10 But he would not try to ascend the steep uphill road... 11 And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?- 12 (It is) the freeing of a slave, 13 And to feed in the day of hunger. 14 of an orphan near of kin, 15 or to a needy person in distress; 16 Then he became one of those who believed, and recommended one another to perseverance and patience, and (also) recommended one another to pity and compassion. 17 Those who do so are the people of the right hand, 18 and [as for] those who are bent on denying the truth of Our revelations, they are the people of the left hand, 19 On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round). 20
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
