Proof (Al-Bayyinah)

8 verses, revealed in Medina after Divorce (Al-Talaaq) before Exodus (Al-Hashr)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The disbelieving People of the Book(s) and the polytheists would not have left their religion until the clear proof came to them. 1 An Apostle from God, reading out hallowed pages 2 containing upright precepts. 3 Now those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime did break up their unity [of faith] after such an evidence of the truth had come to them. 4 And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practise regular charity; and that is the Religion Right and Straight. 5 Those who disbelieved – be they from among the People of the Book or among those who associated others with Allah in His Divinity– shall be in the Fire, and will abide in it. They are the worst of creatures. 6 The righteously striving believers are the best of all creatures. 7 Their reward from their Lord will be the gardens of Eden wherein streams flow and wherein they will live forever. God will be pleased with them and they will be pleased with Him. This (reward) is for those who fear their Lord. 8
