Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 “Therefore when I have properly fashioned him and breathed into him a chosen noble soul from Myself, fall down before him in prostration.” 29 So, the angels - all of them - fell down in prostration, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
