And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 Each person will arrive attended by an [angel] to drive him on and another to bear witness. 21 (It will be said): 'Of this you have been heedless. Therefore, we have now removed your covering. Today your sight is sharp' 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 "Cast into Hell every ungrateful, rebellious one, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 who has set up another deity beside God: cast him, then, cast him into suffering severe!" 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 Allah will say: wrangle not in My presence, and I had already proferred unto you the threat. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
