The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And your Lord glorify 3 and purify your clothing, 4 and defilement flee! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 And made things easy for them. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he looked round; 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 and says, "All this is mere spellbinding eloquence handed down [from olden times]! 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers – in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers – and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt – and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31
