The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 Surely We have created man from a small life-germ uniting (itself): We mean to try him, so We have made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Lo! We have prepared for disbelievers manacles and carcans and a raging fire. 4 Indeed the virtuous will drink from a cup, containing a mixture of Kafoor. 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 They fulfil their vows, and fear a day whose evil is upon the wing; 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. 9 we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” 10 Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; 11 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,- 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 from a flowing spring called Salsabil. 18 ۞ There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls. 19 And when you look towards it, you will see serenity and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and thick silk interwoven with gold, and they shall be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall make them drink a pure drink. 21 Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated. 22
