The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he was created of gushing water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
