A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and follow no friends other than He; little do you remember. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 and We shall relate to them with knowledge; assuredly We were not absent. 7 The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper: 8 And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses. 9 We have established you in the earth and there appointed for you livelihood; little thanks you show. 10
