Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
