The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human being 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
