The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
