Moses said: "O my Lord, enlarge my breast, 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 to support me. 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 so that we may glorify 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds. 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
