As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 and they bar them from the way, and they think they are guided, 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 Or show you what We have promised them – We therefore have complete control over them. 42 So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. 43 And most surely it is a reminder for you and your people, and you shall soon be questioned. 44 You can ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We had commanded them to worship other gods besides the Beneficent God?" 45
