Evidence (of the truth) for them is how We revived the dead earth 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 [and] neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws]. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden ship, 41 and [that] We create for them things of a similar kind, on which they may embark [in their travels]; 42 and [that,] if such be Our will, We may cause them to drown, with none to respond to their cry for help: and [then] they cannot be saved, 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 When it is said unto them: Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, that haply ye may find mercy (they are heedless). 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
