Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
