Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment; 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
