The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Those who sport entering into vain discourses. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Endure it [now]! But [whether you] bear yourselves with patience or without patience, it will be the same to you: you are but being requited for what you were wont to do." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 (To them will be said:) "Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds." 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 Then Allah graced us with His favour and saved us from the chastisement of the scorching wind. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
