Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
