Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
