The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night that falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
