The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the setting star, 1 your companion is neither astray, neither errs, 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 It is but a revelation revealed. 4 He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 While he was in the highest part of the horizon: 7 Then the Spectacle became closer, and came down in full view. 8 Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, 9 So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)]. 10 His heart did not lie of what he saw. 11 What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 Indeed he saw him a second time, 13 at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 The sight (of Prophet Muhammad SAW) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it). 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 Have you considered El-Lat and El-'Uzza 19 and Manat the third, the other? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 Then that is surely a very unjust distribution! 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Or shall man have whatever he fancies? 24 To Allah belong both the Next World and the present. 25
