Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
