Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 'Am Sin Qaf. 2 Thus doth (He) send inspiration to thee as (He did) to those before thee,- Allah, Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom. 3 Whatever is in the heavens and the earth, belongs to Him. He is all-high and supreme. 4 The heavens wellnigh are rent above them, when the angels proclaim the praise of their Lord, and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Surely God -- He is the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate. 5 And Allah is watching those who have chosen supporters besides Him; and you are not responsible for them. 6 We have revealed the Quran to you in the Arabic language so that you could warn the people of the Mother Town (Mecca) and those around it of the inevitable Day of Resurrection when some will go to Paradise and others to hell. 7 If God had pleased He would have made them one community of belief; but He admits whom He please to His grace; yet the sinners have neither friend nor helper. 8 Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things. 9
