In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those that strike violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
