Pray, (O Muhammad): "My Lord, if You should bring the scourge of which they had been warned in my presence, 93 "My Lord! Then (save me from Your Punishment), and put me not amongst the people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing)." 94 We certainly have the power to show you what they have been warned about. 95 Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate. 96 And say: 'O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from evil suggestions of the satans. 97 I seek refuge in You lest they come to me." 98 Until when death overtakes one of them, he says: Send me back, my Lord, send me back; 99 that I have left behind. I am likely to do good." Nay, it is merely a word that he is uttering. There is a barrier behind all of them (who are dead) until the Day when they will be raised up. 100 So when the Horn is blown, no relationship will there be among them that Day, nor will they ask about one another. 101 Therefore the ones whose scales prove heavy – they are the successful. 102 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their souls in Gehenna dwelling forever, 103 The Fire will sear their faces, and they therein will have taut smiles. 104 Have not My revelations been rehearsed unto you, and them ye have been belying? 105 They will reply, "Lord, our hard-heartedness overcame us and we went astray. 106 Get us out of this, O Lord. If we transgress we will surely be sinful." 107 He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. 108 There was a section among My creatures that said: 'O Lord, we believe. Forgive us and have mercy upon us, for You are the best of the merciful.' 109 but you made them a target of your derision to the point where it made you forget all remembrance of Me; and you went on and on laughing at them. 110 Verily I have recompensed them today, for they bore patiently, verily they are the achievers. 111 [And] He will ask [the doomed]: "What number of years have you spent on earth?" 112 They will say, “We stayed a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count.” 113 He will say: "You stayed only for a while, if you only knew that. 114 Do you think We created you for nothing, and that you will not return to Us?" 115 Then, exalted be God, the true King, there is no deity except Him, the Lord of the Glorious Throne. 116 And the one who worships any other God along with Allah – of which he does not have any proof – his account is with his Lord; indeed there is no salvation for the disbelievers. 117 (Muhammad), say, "Lord, forgive me and grant me mercy; You are the best of the Merciful Ones. 118
