۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
